Above & Beyond
Love this the taste and the whole idea
Smells great, lasts a while
It's about time!
I hate throwing away perfectly good plastic just because no-one wants to recycle it so ever since discovering Wild deodorant (which cheered me up no end) I’ve been trying to find the lip balm equivalent and now at last here it is. The first thing to say is it’s a good lip balm. When newly opened it seems like you can’t get quite enough on and it needs reapplying a few times but the very outermost layer is a bit more waxy than the middle (which is more creamy – but not too soft) so when you’ve got through this outer layer it has no issues really. The flavours are good too – distinct but not overpowering, clean and with no nasty aftertaste. I think the berry is my favourite. The wide cross section of the refills means that there doesn’t seem to be much wastage in the cause of holding the refill in the cup – with a bit of ingenuity I reckon I’ll be able to use almost all of this. Being metal the case is obviously a bit heavier to carry around than a standard lip balm, however there are several positives (besides being refillable). It stands securely on the base and doesn't fall over or roll away for a start. Also if it falls out of your pocket you should notice. And there’s something very aesthetically pleasing about the design – it looks really cool, it feels nice to hold in your hand and it can easily be held securely during application (there’s nothing ergonomically awkward about the shape). And it looks durable – some “for life” items clearly won’t last anything like that long but this really looks like it will. I don't know why no-one thought of doing this years ago!
I love this lip balm - gorgeous smell, rich formula works brilliantly.
Mixed berry lip balm
It’s super convenient and very portable, with the hard casting protecting the lip balm, you can just take it anywhere. The smell isn’t over powering but it leaves a nice feel on your lips after applying, hopefully one day they will add SPF into their products, I think that will be a game changer.
